The question to be answered is: "What have young people learned about politics in the 2008 presidential election?" Any topic of discussion falling under this concept will be accepted. Judging criteria is as follows: (1) Quality of writing, including grammar and AP Style; (2) Strength of argument (must have a clearly defined main point or argument; must use persuasive language and logic and must demonstrate evidence of research and critical thinking); (3) Creativity (i.e., originality of thought and voice); and (4) Should be standard length for most op-ed (no more than 750 words). Also, be sure to put your name on the back of your op-ed.
The winner will be formally awarded and reviewed by the Times-Picayune for publication!
